LONGFORD Park
Primary School

Longford Park Primary school was rebuilt in 1998 as a one form entry primary school. There has been a school on this site for nearly 100 years. The school building was moved to the middle of the site and a playing field laid where the original buildings stood. Part of the original Victorian building does remain and is currently being used as our nursery classroom and Community Lounge and ICT suite.

Since 1998 and the rebuild, areas of the site have continued to be developed to broaden our teaching and learning environments. A wooden play trail has been constructed in the nursery garden and is available for all of Key Stage one to use. Next door on a disused part of the ground we have had our round house constructed and a quiet area planted for all the children and staff to enjoy. The community lounge has been equipped to be used as an extra ICT teaching space.

We celebrated our 100 year birthday in November 2010 with 3 days of history activities culminating in a whole school assembly and play performed by the staff. We have also buried a time capsule to be dug up in 25 years.
