Safeguarding at Longford Park Primary School

'Safeguarding is Everyone's Responsibility'

At Longford Park Primary School, safeguarding and child protection is paramount and we are fully committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of all our children. We believe that safeguarding is the responsibility of all the adults in the school community. We believe that pupils have a right to learn in a supportive, caring and safe environment which includes the right to protection from all types of abuse including bullying. All school staff are vigilant for signs of any pupil in distress and are confident about applying the processes to avert and alleviate any such problems. If any behaviour is a concern in relation to safeguarding Longford Park Primary School procedures and processes will be followed at all times in accordance with the Child Protection Policy. Everyone is Welcome at Longford Park School

We ensure that pupils are happy and excited about living and learning in a community full of difference and diversity. Our children are taught to live out these values, we have opted for a text-based approach, through which our children learn about equality and diversity. This is one aspect of how we teach children about equality and diversity through the curriculum.

For more information read our equality statement in General Information Tab- Policies and refer to our equality whole school overview- in Curriculum tab

Ofsted quote:

'The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Safeguarding leaders are well-qualified and they are aware of the risks that pupils and families face. Leaders ensure that all staff are trained to be able to spot the signs that pupils may not be safe. Leaders act quickly on the concerns that staff raise, and they make appropriate referrals to other agencies. Pupils learn how to keep safe and pupils who are at risk of harm are helped through pastoral support and interventions.'
