We are a school community who cares about the development and needs of every child. This is not only recognised by all the professionals who visit us from outside agencies, but is also recognised by parents, governors and was acknowledged by OFSTED in our most recent school inspection:

Parent views:

“The school ethos is all about creating an inclusive environment where all children flourish and are made to feel valued.”

"I have received good communication between myself and staff and feel like we have a very good relationship which will promote my child's learning and wellbeing."

“My child has benefitted from the extra support and I am very grateful for the extra care, level of concern and support towards his emotional wellbeing.”

Governor views:

“The ethos of the school and the relationship established between staff and pupils encourages an environment of acceptance, inclusion and empathy towards all children.”

Ofsted December 2021:

Leaders understand the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or
disabilities (SEND) well. They create useful learning plans for pupils with education health and care plans (EHC plans to help staff to meet their needs effectively. Teachers receive regular training about SEND. This helps pupils with SEND toachieve well.

'The progress that pupils with special educationl needs and/or disabilities make in reading, writing and mathematics is in line with their classmates by the time they reach the end of Year 6'

'Teachers provide good support for those pupils who need to make faster progress in order to reach expected performance levels by the end of the year'

'Pupils benefit from additional small group sessions where learning activities are carefully planned to help them catch up'

'The school's work to promote pupil's personal development and welfare is good'

If you have any questions about SEND or your child's education, please feel free to contact Miss Dorman on 02476 687688 (Tuesday or Thursday)
