Tribal Tales

Welcome to the Summer Term!

In this exciting topic children will head back to prehistoric times (it's a long time ago) to gather berries and hunt down dinner. They will unearth ancient objects and learn about astonishing mystical monuments that reveal the secrets of an ancient time.

Children will learn how the people of Britain developed over thousands of years from the Stone Age to the Roman invasion.

In English, children will write Adventure Stories, Letters and Poetry using similes and metaphors.

  •  Homework books are given out every Wednesday with new work to complete and should be returned the following Tuesday.
  • Spellings are given out on Mondays and should be handed in the following Monday. Library books are also changed every Monday.
  • Year 3 children should be reading their reading books every day at home and then returning them to school the following day. Please could adults who are hearing the children read, write a brief comment in their Reading Records.

The expectation for Year 3 children is to already know the 2, 5 and 10 timestable randomly and in order. Please continue to practise these with your children to improve their speed and accuracy of recall. They will now be learning their 3, 4, 6 and 8 times table.
